about

Written in the ocean and on the St.Augustine beach.
It felt like I spent most of my summer in the rain. Watching it fall from a friend's apartment became a nightly activity for me. I also found the beach to be somewhat of a safe haven, something so expansive made me feel small, like what I was going through wasn't big enough to hurt me. I thought a lot about myself, and, I think changed my identity a few dozen times. I wanted this song to represent these thoughts / feelings.

lyrics

Oh there is rain
In the oaks tonight
Oh this rain
ain’t fallin’ light
There is rain
Coming from the sky
On this
Summer night.

I want to swim to
Where the waves begin,
And drown myself
And let it end

I want guns
I want love
I want the Georgia sun
I want fucks
I want lust
I want the Florida sun

Baby will you kiss me
Baby lets get in the sand
Baby lets go to the beach
Baby lets hold hands

I want things
Paired in dreams
Paired since nights
Full of beams
I want lights
I want rain
I want things
In the drain

Florida
Do you want to kill me?
Florida
Do you ever cry?
Florida
Do you believe in heaven?
Florida
Do you ever close your eyes?
