about

Written on my back porch, wanting to make light of the absurd blinding pain that I felt after losing my girly friend of 4 (on and off) years. It seems a bit ridiculous now when I look back on all of this, seeing how crushed I was about her evaporating. Regardless, I felt like I just had to reflect on it point-blank. This was me tearing her paintings from the wall in a flustered gut-punching storm, and walking outside to throw her tampons away and smoke a cigarette to calm down a bit, and then finally stepping into a pile of shit before I could make it back inside.

lyrics

I got piss on my socks,
I got stains on my shirt and my hair's a mess.
I got shit on my shoes,
I've got cleaning to do,
my place is a wreck.
I don't think I'm going out tonight,
I think I'll just stay in and write -

and think on the days when I'd take you away,
when we'd sleep in the same bed.
You'd say beautiful things,
like "I never will leave" like
"I'm here to stay"
Well baby where did you go?
Baby why did you go?

I had to clean out my room
and delete your missed calls,
I took your paintings off the wall.
I threw out your tampons
with your slippers on my feet
I couldn't tell what it meant to me;
its all absurdity.

It's all gonna be alright,
I promise I'll stay in tonight.
