about

Written after getting sad-drunk at a party, and realizing how alone I felt sitting on this stranger's couch and watching people be weird and fake with each other. I realized that night that I was letting the negative situations that I typically explore with my art leak into my personality - that this dream of being a painter / musician / writer was sabotaging me; it was forcing me to be unhappy, or "making me disappear." Glad that I found out how to just not let it effect me.

lyrics

Sink down into
that foreign couch
And get to counting
The dreams between your ears
before they make you disappear

You said you could drown in a puddle
you said you could drink up the sky
just stay inside
and turn off the lights

I could fall in love
With the first woman I touch
I could make her cry or
I could make her blush

They said I should learn to love myself
But how could I if I can’t love no one else
how could I if I can’t love no one else

I can see your eyes,
dividing all the time,
spread your gift around this fucking living room
get these boys high
give them tears in their eyes

because I’m out for the night,
so give them a good time
give them a good time
